There’s no better place to be on Canada Day than in the Capital. It’s slated to be one of the hottest days of the summer so be sure to grab your sunscreen and water and hit the town for a jam-packed day full of activities and celebrations! With so much to do right outside your LIV Apartments’ front door, we’ve prepared a little guide on what’s happening this year for our nation’s 151st birthday.

Parliament Hill | 111 Wellington Street
Festivities on the Hill will begin early in the morning with the Algonquin Blessing of the Grounds and will move into the free performances featuring Canadian artists. Be sure to stick around for the evening musical firework show!

Major’s Hill Park | Mackenzie Avenue
The activity packed day is lined up with free cultural performances, displays, exhibits, activities, and free concerts. Major’s Hill Park offers some of the best lookouts in Ottawa so don’t forget the camera at home!

Canadian Museum of History | 100 Laurier Street, Gatineau
Take advantage of the free admission day and check out the world premiere of Canada C3 – Coast to Coast to Coast, a film that retraces the expedition from Toronto to Victoria through the Northwest Passage. The Museum will also feature many indoor and outdoor activities for visitors of all ages.

Ottawa Welcomes the World | Lansdowne Park, 1525 Princess Patricia Way
Featuring food, drinks, music, and dance, Ottawa Welcomes the World, an International Cultural festival, is a celebration of traditions from across the globe! Running from July 1st to 3rd, daily admission is $5 or $10 for all three days.

Don’t forget to kick off your Canada Day right and join us for Canada Day Brunch up on the LIV Apartments rooftop patio for brunch and mimosas from 9 am to 11 am!
