Escape the City with These Hiking Trails near Ottawa


Living in the hustle and bustle of the city is an amazing experience, but it’s great to take a little break every so often and hit the great outdoors. You don’t have to venture far from home to take in the natural beauty of some of Ottawa’s surrounding hiking trails and make some unforgettable memories!

Pink Lake Trail, Gatineau Park | Time: 1 Hour
A fairly easy and scenic hike that follows the shores of the beautiful Pink Lake in Gatineau Park.

Luskville Falls Trail, Gatineau Park | Time: 2.5 Hours
This trail is definitely worth a day trip! Stop by the Luskville Falls, the Eardley Escarpment, an abandoned fire tower and the Pontiac Lookout for a panoramic view of the Ottawa Valley.

Wolf Trail, Gatineau Park | Time: 3 Hours
If you want a challenge, this trail’s for you! Wolf Trail is a steep hike that leads to one of the highest points in Gatineau Park.

Pinhey Forest Trails, Nepean | Time: 2 Hours
A beautiful looped forest trail that is great for all skill levels. Dogs are welcome so be sure to bring your furry friend!

Mer Bleue Bog, Gloucester | Time: 1 Hour
Take a self-guided tour of one of the most studied bogs in the world along an interpretive boardwalk or follow a 6 km trail through the forest for more of a challenge.

Grab your friends, lots of water and hit the trails to take a break from the city and truly enjoy a breath of fresh air. Happy hiking!
