As a resident of LIV Apartments, you are steps away from some of the most popular neighbourhoods in Ottawa right now, and we have put together a list of some spots for you to check out in each area. Take advantage of the warm weather and explore your neighbourhood – there’s a ton to see!

China Town

If you love trying new foods, China Town is definitely a spot for you to explore! The grocery stores are filled with unique and interesting items for you to add to your own dishes. China town also has a ton of great little cafés and restaurants, such as So Good Restaurant for Asian cuisine and My Sweet Tea for your caffeine and treat fix. Looking for a little more fun? Try out the VIP Karaoke Bar!

Little Italy

Little Italy is filled with restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs, and a lot of other places for you to try! If you’re looking for Italian food, there are restaurants all over Preston Street. You’re not only limited to Italian food though, Little Italy also hosts Greek, Indian, Asian and other cuisines. A must try spot if you’re a lover of pancakes is Flapjack’s Canadian Diner – they also serve regular breakfast items, lunch and dinner. If you’re a coffee fan, the Bridgehead located on Preston Street serves as both a coffeehouse and the roastery – you can book a tour and receive a peek into how they roast their coffee beans.

Little Italy isn’t all about food, there are also fitness options like Yogatown – home to hot yoga – and Greco Fitness (as a LIV resident, you receive #LIVLocalPerks at Greco Fitness). For your nightlife, you can check out the live music at Heart and Crown or laugh away at Absolute Comedy!

You can find more things to do in Little Italy on their website, here.

One of the most popular areas in Ottawa right now, Hintonburg has everything you could imagine – restaurants, cafés, grocery stores, local shops, fitness, art galleries and more. If you’re a foodie, you should consider attending Tastes of Wellington West happening on September 17, 2016. Another great spot to check out on a weekend is the Ottawa Farmers’ Market. Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (May 14 to October 29) Bryon Park hosts the Ottawa Farmers’ Market – fresh food from local farmers and shops. You could also get some friends together and participate in Board Game Night on Tuesdays at Daniel O’Connell’s Irish Pub, or participate in Open Mic Wednesdays at Black Pepper Urban Pub.

You can find a complete list of restaurants, shops, upcoming events and other activities happening in Hintonburg here.
